Being in a cult really isn't that bad.

You know, people have always told me that cult life is bad, but I'm pretty sure that we're having the best time ever.

Black Flamingo Dashiki Brothers

7.23.2010

So, Megan FINALLY got here. Reunited and it feels so good. It's been a crazy couple of days at the Dollhouse. We've been playing with our other drummer, Paul ( since Alex is not able to make these shows):

we play at 10. its good times.

As always, half the fun of going out last night was getting ready. Obviously, a photoshoot had to happen.

The best part of the night, was dressing Dustin, Chris and Anthony in my Dashiki/dress collection. Megan's warrior/New Guinea inspired warpaint topped it off. We're never leaving the house looking like normal people again.

I wish I could just have a video of people's reactions to the Dashiki brothers... kind of like those youtube videos that people post of themselves reacting to watching Bambi for the first time....(seriously though, youtube has ruined 15 minutes of fame for anyone actually worthwhile...and why am I so addicted to watching videos of people watching rainbows and little fat children singing weird songs.....)

There was obviously a lot more that happened, but I was so busy taking it all in, that I forgot I was carrying around my camera.

Sedona to Home

7.11.2010

The plan was to camp in Sedona and then drive to Las Vegas the next morning, stay a night, and then come home Sunday.
But then it started raining, and our little two person tent was missing the tarp that keep the rain out, so we decided to just drive until we found something better.
Well, we ended up driving all the way to Vegas. Where the temperature at 8PM was 112 degrees. We were like, eff that business, took a rest at Denny's and just drove straight through, arriving at the Dollhouse at around 3am. There's no place like home.

Colorado-New Mexico-Arizona

7.08.2010

Our epic journey began on Monday. We loaded up the car with treasures and trash.

the view from my parents house

then we drove to Denver-spent the night at my grandmas, woke up at 6am, and drove to Albuquerque,NM, arriving there in the early afternoon. We stayed with Ammo's friend Jordan at their rad house. Best VHS collection ever.

they drove us to the river

after spending some QT at the river,we headed over to Jordan's friend, Eli's house/art gallery, The Normal. It's probably my new favorite place in the world.

the gallery also doubles as a guest bedroom.
supercat.

my new crush.
back at Jordan's, playing supernintendo. just like jr. high. so fun.

ammo and i went thrifting in NM, and bought way too much stuff, so we had to repack the car again. Then it was off to AZ.
we saw dinosaurs

Chris put us in touch with his friends, Tracy and Ryan, and they live on this cute little ranch in Camp Verde. They have a pet turkey, rooster and the most amazing GOAT!

We're not coming back, we're staying off the grid.

i mean....really?

finally someone with the same eating habits as me.
