GRAND TIMES

7.05.2010

Ammo and I arrived in Denver last Tuesday. She's one of the only people from my current life to be introduced into my past life. It makes me happy.
We've been shooting SO much video, and kind of neglecting the digital photos, but Ammo's been shooting loads of film, so I'm sure there will be a photo post up soon.
We spent two days in Denver with my Grandmother and Grandpa Howard. I come from a family that has amazing stories, and we sat for hours and listened as they filled our heads with tales of love, music boxes, and how it feels to be part of the lost generation.

It's weird to think that things will never be like that again.

We drove up to Grand Lake on Friday. For all of you who don't know, Grand Lake is the idyllic, secluded small town I spent most of my adolescence in. Back then all I wanted was to leave, but I have to say, there are few places in the world that are more beautiful and peaceful than my little hometown. Plus, my mom and dad are probably two of the most amazing human beings on this earth, so coming home is always healing in many ways.

Anyways, here's some photos of nature and stuff.

Ammo and I went hiking by Adam's Falls.

some lady commented on our choice of wardrobe. Apparently we were not following hiking dress code. I'm sorry they don't make ill-fitting, cargo pants in black.

we made friends with a fox.
he was like, dudes, i like your outfits.

So, we spent fourth of July at the lake, and watched the most amazing fireworks ever. Mostly they were amazing because the BURNING ASH that fell from the sky and hit people in the face. It was pretttttttty intense. The fact that the dj was playing very...umm...patriotic? music didn't help.

Here's my mom and dad.
here's ammo doing an interpretive dance to "God Bless America" by Lee Greenwood- HER NEW FAVORITE BAND.

and creepshow in action.

Anyways, more posts and photos to follow.

PS WE START OUR ROADTRIP TODAY!
